the school for husbands (& WIves)
Based on two of Moliere's earliest plays, (The School for Husbands & The School for Wives), our show tells the reimagined story of Ricciolina and her twin sister Isabelle. Orphaned at a young age, the young women are brought up in different homes with guardians who have drastically different ideas about how to raise a daughter. Chaos ensues when the young women turn 18 and Capitano, Ricciolia's guardian, announces that he should marry her. Meanwhile, shes in love with Arlecchino. And Arlecchino's fathers wish for him to marry Rosalina, Isabelles guardian. In the style of the Commedia Dell'Arte, the show is a raucous farce that explores big political questions with lots of music, dancing, and mayhem. Devised and written by this year's Commedia troupe.
